Melbury College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated Finance and HR Officer to join our partnership.
Melbury College is a partnership that includes, The SMART Centre, Merton Medical Education Service, Melrose School and Merton Alternative Education Service. The SMART Centre is a KS3 and 4 Pupil Referral Unit that caters for secondary aged pupils who are permanently excluded, on timed intervention from their home schools, Year 11 pupils without a school place and new arrivals into the borough. It caters for both boys and girls.
Based at The Smart Centre, the successful candidate will work alongside the School Business Manager School to ensure a cohesive and skilled finance service. We offer support, training & development in this role. Applicants for this post should demonstrate proven skills and abilities in finance data entry, have an understanding of processing confidential personnel tasks and possess excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will have good ICT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and database packages. The ideal person will be flexible, well organised, and good with time management and a team player, have an eye for detail and be willing to learn and develop through work related training. We welcome applications from enthusiastic, motivated candidates with excellent interpersonal skills. Previous school experience and experience of SIMS and Finance packages an asset.

Melbury College- Merton Medical Education Services
Melbury College wish to appoint a talented and ambitious Science teacher who can motivate and challenge pupils to unlock their potential. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach Science to GCSE level and an understanding of how to meet the needs of pupils with medical/ mental heath issues.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Science teacher who would like to broaden their experience, who has a strong commitment to raising standards of teaching and learning and who can promote a positive school culture.
Melbury College is a partnership that includes the SMART Centre, Melrose School, Merton Medical Education Service and the Merton Alternative Education Service. The Merton Medical Education Service provides short-term education for school age students who are unable to attend their mainstream school due to medical or mental health issues.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to work within a dedicated and successful team.
The post requires the teacher to plan and deliver suitable education provision for the pupils in Merton Medical Education Service. The teacher will have a lead role in co-ordinating the education provision for the pupils, teaching a broad and balanced curriculum as well as establishing and maintaining partnerships with parent/carers and local services.
Candidates should have:
- an excellent teaching record
- experience of the use of restorative practices as well as developing a good rapport with pupils.
- ability to monitor and review through self-evaluation, report writing and a clear system of record keeping
- ability to teach flexibly, innovatively and responsively
- evidence of ability to successfully manage and support pupils with complex mental health issues
- the ability to plan and deliver outstanding teaching and learning for both individuals and small groups with high quality outcomes for all pupils
